Three schools, 300 students, one big day of play.
What do you get when you hand 300 children a day full of games? Plenty of cheering, a few happy shrieks, and faces that didn’t stop smiling. This Children’s Day, students from Lil Unicorn to Year 6 at Dwi Emas, Sri Emas and MITstem put the textbooks away and made the day all about play.
Our Year 5 and 6 students were first into the fun. At Dwi Emas, Catch the Flag got a dodgeball twist, with players ducking, dashing and diving to protect their team’s flag. Sri Emas classrooms turned into spaces for teamwork and quick thinking, as students worked together to move through the Sliding Circle Relay, tackled a coordination challenge where teammates had to avoid standing at the same time, joined forces for the Triple-Linked Drawing Challenge and put their memories to the test. Every game had one secret rule: you can’t win alone.
Over at MITstem, the hall became a mini carnival. Cone Toss, Sandbag Shot, Balloon Stomp and Ping Pong Egg Rack had everyone lining up for another turn, and a few surprise twists kept even the sharpest players guessing.
A big thank you to Scott’s for sponsoring activities for our Lil Unicorn to Year 4 students! Their interactive segments at Dwi Emas and Sri Emas added even more fun, our little ones went home with gift bags, and parents got a sweet treat of Scott’s Gummies.
Of course, no celebration is complete without a party. Students and teachers wrapped up the day together over food, drinks and lots of “Did you see that?” moments from the games.
Happy Children’s Day to all our amazing students. You make every day worth celebrating!
