Growing up, I was the kid who liked to push boundaries, always trying out funny ideas and tinkering at home. Once, while my parents were out, I took apart our TV to see how it worked. Another time, an experiment went too far and I literally set my computer on fire.

Looking back, I learned so much because I was free to explore and make mistakes. I was pushed out of my comfort zone, but always had a safe place to land. It prepared me for life in ways I only realised later. That is why I do what I do. I want every student in our care to have that same chance: a safe environment where they can step out, try new things and grow with confidence.

In 2027, I will carry this belief into my new role as Chief Executive of Performance Management, where I hope to bring the same balance of challenge and support to how our people grow.
