Sole-ly dedicated to the ocean, Joe Chew’s sneakers just took a giant leap from sea to street! 👟

Since the age of 8, our student, Joe Chew, a.k.a The Oceanist, has been passionately dedicated to regenerating the ocean. Over the years, he’s worked on various ocean conservation projects, from coral mapping to tackling fashion pollution. His personal endeavour, The “Eye Sea You” Coral Sneakers, features a 3D-printed design with contrasting coral patterns, serving as a reminder to make conscious choices for ocean protection. 🌊

While Joe has incredible passion and drive, he wasn’t sure how to take his project to the next level. That’s when mentorship sessions with renowned international designer, Simplicio Michael Luis (a.k.a “M”) and joining the 𝗠𝗘𝟮𝗪𝗘 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻 programme at Dwi Emas changed everything. With proper support, guidance and referrals, Joe’s vision came to life in a way he never expected – when “M” surprised him with a real-life prototype of his sneakers to show his support! 💪

Seeing Joe’s face light up as his idea transformed from vision into a real product was priceless! It was well-deserved, and we hope this moment inspires Joe to keep leading the way toward a more regenerative future. 🌏🌱
