A new kind of international school has arrived in Penang:
One that Unleashes Greatness in every Child.
Introducing Convent Sri Emas International School – an international school built on the belief that great education should be accessible and filled with purpose.
Convent Sri Emas isn’t just a school. It’s a tribute to the culture, values, and community spirit of Convent Light Street. A space where nostalgia and progress coexist, where students of today are inspired by the legacy of yesterday to build a better tomorrow.
To all families in Penang: The future of education is here, and we’d love for you to be a part of it!
Meet Our Founders
Returning to Penang With a Mission
The vision behind it all? Two sisters from Penang: Anne Tham and Melinda Lim, who spent their childhood here, then went on to create three successful international schools in the Klang Valley: Sri Emas, Dwi Emas, and MITstem. Now, they’re coming full circle, bringing their game-changing approach back home.
Now, the dynamic duo is geared up to share the remarkable improvements they have made in the education industry and introduce an affordable international school in Convent Sri Emas (CSE), Penang.
“One of the aspects that truly sets ACE EdVenture apart is our focus on preparing students for the rapidly changing real world”, says Melinda, emphasising the need to equip young minds with adaptable skills.
As Convent Sri Emas is the culmination of their efforts since starting The ACE Method, recognising the gap in the current Penang education that may not adequately address central life skills, the sisters aim to have incorporated extracurricular activities such as leadership camps, sports, and skill enhancement programmes into their curriculum, ensuring every student has an equal opportunity to benefit from these valuable experiences.

How do we stand out from other schools?

Because We Teach Biology, Physics and Chemistry From Year 7
A 2-Year Head Start in Core Science Subjects
While most schools only begin these core sciences in Year 10, we start in Year 7 – giving our students a vital head start. With up to 9 hours a week for the Sciences (compared to just 3 hours each in most schools), our students get the time they need to truly understand complex concepts. But it’s not just about more time – it’s how we use it. Through our signature ACE Teaching Method, we bring abstract ideas to life using creative analogies, real-world applications, visuals, and games. This makes learning not only easier to grasp, but genuinely exciting.
Instead of cramming, our students build stronger foundations, deeper understanding and consistently achieve better results by the time they graduate.
Biology, Physics And Chemistry Taught By Experts
Specialists, not Generalists
In many schools, the same teacher might teach Biology, Physics and Chemistry – limiting the depth of expertise students receive. At our school, we believe that each core science deserves dedicated attention. That’s why we hire people with real world experience: engineers, biomedical scientists, psychologists, actuaries, marine biologists, and more.
This means students aren’t just learning content – they’re learning from passionate experts who bring real-world insights, deeper knowledge, and tailored teaching strategies.

Biology, Physics And Chemistry Wrapped In Arts
Because we take arts seriously but differently
At our school, the Arts aren’t an “extra” – they’re embedded into every subject because they’re just as vital as the Sciences. In today’s world, both are key to shaping well-rounded, future-ready individuals. This integration builds creativity, empathy, higher-order thinking, and real-world skills like performance, awareness, and problem-solving.
For instance, in Biology, students might stage a fashion show designing outfits from plants – turning science into creative expression. This approach hones visual synthesis, numerical reasoning, analytical listening, efficiency logic, and independent planning, equipping students to excel in academics and beyond.
What is ACE EdVenture All About?
Understanding Theory is one thing.
But being able to apply that knowledge creatively in the outside world?
Now, that’s what we call education.

Making Education Relevant - Our Curriculum
PRIMARY l KEY STAGE 1-2
At the Primary Level, the students go through the rich, engaging thematic style of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Coupled with the unique learning that comes with the ACE Method, we provide a vibrant and thriving environment that helps nurture children’s confidence and character, priming them to be successful all around, starting from Year 1.

SECONDARY l KEY STAGE 3-4
Sri Emas’ secondary curriculum is built on the fun and engaging ACE Method with the prestigious Cambridge IGCSE at its core. We’ve also embedded components, such as the Skills Enhancement Programme into our curriculum because our aim is not just to prepare students for IGCSE examinations, but to equip them with 2st century skills that will help them achieve long-term success.
